Topomox eye ointment contains Moxifloxacin 0.5% as a sterile ointment for topical ophthalmic use. Moxifloxacin belongs to Fluroquinolone group of drugs. Moxifloxacin kills the bacteria which causes infection by inhibiting the enzymes – topoisomerase II and topoisomerase IV, which plays key role in bacterial cell wall formation. Topomox eye ointment is prescribed for treating ocular bacterial infections and considered for night time application.
