Cloro H eye ointment contains Chloramphenicol and Hydrocortisone Acetate as a sterile ointment for topical ophthalmic use. Chloramphenicol belongs to the nitrobenezene class of organic compounds which prevents bacterial growth by interfering in the bacterial cell protein synthesis. Hydrocortisone is a steroid that controls inflammation by inhibiting the production of inflammatory mediators. Cloro H eye ointment is prescribed for treating bacterial infection co-existing with inflammation.
